Carl Collins

With fourteen years as a child protection officer with Protective Services Victoria, seven years as a senior officer/team leaders and prosecutor, and twenty five years experience as a consultant/trainer, Carl Collin's achievements in this complex field are second to none.

After completing advanced and specialist child protection training Carl became one of Victoria's first fully authorised investigative protective officers with the Department of Human Services, (Protective Services) after spending many years working and specialising in the post court arena which involved the statutory care of, case planning for and management of victims and families subject to statutory court orders.

A tough, fair investigator and prosecutor, Carl's unit in conjunction with Victoria Police child abuse investigators were responsible for many high level joint operations.

Under his leadership, Carl's unit never failed to prove the most serious matters taken before the court, which earned him enormous respect throughout the police and judicial system.

In 1996, Carl was the recipient of a Victoria Police recognition award for his contribution to child protection.

Highly committed to prevention rather that intervention, Carl was jointly responsible for the oversight and training of regional Police, Doctors, Nurses and Teachers during the phased implementation of mandatory reporting legislation in Victoria in 1993/4, and has been seconded to, and engaged as a consultant by a multitude of organisations which have included reception centres, (both non secure and secure facilities) foster care recruitment, assessment and training agencies, and indigenous organisations just to mention a few.

Carl's formal qualifications include an Associate Diploma in Applied Social Science and a Diploma of Welfare/Community Services. Carl also holds a current Level III certificate in Investigative Services.

Engaged as a a sessional lecturer and key note speaker in the fields of social science, paedophilia and child protection, Carl's cutting edge, thought provoking and candid style never fails to captivate his audiences.

Carl is also highly experienced in the design and implementation of awareness programs for government and non-government agencies (including churches) at the national and international level, and specialises in conducting debriefing and management response programs for infiltrated and affected organisations.

THE CACET GLOBAL TEAM

CACET Global associates and presenters are all highly experienced child protection practitioners and investigators. Our unique combination of seminars have been shaped by a combination of child protection investigators, prosecutors, counselors, social workers and psychologists, which ensures a well balanced and objective approach.

CACET Global does not provide or endorse train the trainer training which many organisations choose as a cheap, and in many cases very poor option. In our view providing a person with a manual and CD and engaging them to conduct training for their organisation is not only inadequate, but leaves the organisation open to legal processes as many have already discovered.

If your heart requires medical attention you don’t go to a dentist. If children need protecting, you should go to those who know and specialise in their respective field.
