ADDRESSING THE NEW AusAID CHILD PROTECTION POLICIES
IMPLEMENTING CHILD PROTECTION IN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
CACET Global has developed a 2-part specialist training program to address the recent AusAID Child Protection Compliance Standards for Contractors and NGOS, Categories 1, 3 and 5(1) c in respect of child protection training. Part 1 of CACET Global’s training program addresses the new compliance policies and standards, what is child abuse and their complexities, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, risks to children in aid programs and the dynamics of child abuse and exploitation. The program is designed to include the individual organisation’s own child protection policies, procedures, complaints processes and response requirements and is suitable for both new and existing staff and contractors. Training can be delivered in Australia or at a project site.
Part 2 is designed for managers and recruitment staff to ensure that proper, child safe recruitment, selection and screening processes are utilised. Additional specialist training components include how offenders think, operate, groom victims and infiltrate organisations with an emphasis on: “MAKING THE ORGANISATION SAFE”
"It is essential to ensure that risks of child abuse associated with aid delivery are managed effectively. It is also vital that contractors and NGOs implementing aid activities remain alert to child protection issues"
